Abstract:Nine sub-binary phase diagrams of the RECl₃-CaCl₂, RECl₃- MgCl₂ and CaCl₂- MgCl₂ systems,andthermodynamic data for these systems are critically assessed and optimized.Using Hillert model and taking MgCl₂ as an asymmetric component,the ternary phase diagrams or the RECl₃- CaCl₂- MgCl₂ systems are predtcted.As well,the determination of asymmetric component in the asymmetric model is investigated.
